The winery Girboiu is a family business founded in 2005 that ownes a wide area of about 200 hectares, unique for its story and distinctive climate conditions.

The vineyards are situated in the province Cotesti with a distinctive, particularly favourable climate conditions and a soil rich in minerals – unique in the south-east part of Romania.

The hills are situated at an altitude between 150-200 meters. This area has a long tradition in vine growing that every year gives modern and high quality level wines.

The viticultural heritage of Girboiu winery is composed of native vines such as Sarba, Plavaie, Feteasca Regala, Feteasca Alba, Feteasca Neagra and the international one’s like Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling Italico, Muscat Ottonel, Gewurztraminer, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir.

Since the winery was founded, the Girboiu family manages all the sectors of the company together with a team of expertise, a growing process with a recent improvement of the Sales, Marketing and Communication sector.

The cellar has a surface of 4000 square meters composed of processing area of grapes, the storage warehouse with a capacity of 2 million litters, and the bottling line in glass and bag-in-box package. The equipments are models of latest generation; maceration and fermentation of the wines are taking place in stainless steel vessels at controlled temperature; maturation in French wood barrels.

Girboiu Cellar wishes to produce and offer to consumers the best wines, recommended by the uniqueness of the place and cultivated varieties of the well known vineyard Cotesti and the tradition recognized for hundreds of years of making good wine.
